Once Upon a Stage is an interactive children’s theatre troupe where you get to be a part of the story! We perform at libraries, book and toy stores, camps, and other venues all around the greater DC Metro area. We are passionate about giving children access to the performing arts through free performances in our community. Our interactive shows aim to spark important conversations and empower Children from a young age to feel confident in their creativity and problem-solving skills.

Once Upon a Stage is supported by a grant from the ACC-IAC Creativity and Innovation Fellowship.
Our shows are modeled on a modified version of a performance style called Forum Theatre. Each hour-long performance has four parts:
1. A short introduction and warm-up game led by our narrator.
2. A scene based on a classic fairy tale.
3. A Q&A where audience members get to ask the characters about themselves and their actions.
4. A second, interactive performance of the scene, where audience members can join the action and help the characters reach their happily ever after!
The performances are recommended for ages 4-7, but are fun for all ages!
